Tharun Bhascker calls ‘Jo Jo’ teaser excellent
The makers of ‘Jo Jo’, presented by filmmaker Deva Katta, have unveiled ‘Caution 1’, introducing a rustic world where the pursuit of diamonds sets the stage for romance, ambition and comedy. Written and directed by Kiran Jay Kumar and produced by Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni under the Vijayam banner, the film is set in the drought-hit diamond fields of Jonnagiri.
The teaser takes viewers to Jonnagiri, where hopefuls arrive at the diamond fields, believing the rains may have left behind a fortune. What follows is a chaotic hunt, with stones mistaken for riches and one man trying his luck at flirting. An examiner dismisses their discoveries as ordinary stones. While one hopeful refuse to give up, insisting that his lucky break will eventually come, the woman beside him responds: “Clean your own ass!” The exchange captures the film’s unfiltered humour.
Filmmaker and actor Tharun Bhascker called the teaser “excellent” after watching it, adding to the film’s promotional momentum.
At the heart of ‘Jo Jo’ are two penniless dreamers and a fearless young woman chasing a life-changing diamond. Their quest becomes entangled with romance, greed, betrayal, danger and comic misadventures. As their ambitions collide with unpredictable circumstances, the possibility of sudden wealth turns their pursuit into a complicated adventure.
The film marks another collaboration between Deva Katta, Kiran Jay Kumar and Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni, who previously worked together on ‘Mayasabha: Rise of the Titans’. With ‘Jo Jo’, the team explores a romantic comedy rooted in rural eccentricity and an unlikely treasure hunt.
Krishna Kamal plays Seenu, while Maahi Sri portrays Supraja. The ensemble cast includes Phanindra Devarapalli as Venkatesh, Prabhavathi as Vijayamma, Mahaboob Basha as Suri, Satish Devatte Tanjore as Rangasaami, Puduru Shar.
