Gopichand has been looking for a big blockbuster success from several years. Thiru, Cinematography turned director, wrote and directed his latest movie, Chanakya.
He seems to have mixed D-Day and Ek Tha Tiger in the movie as the trailer elaborates on the content. He presented Dawood Ibrahim-Esque villain in a different way and even Gopichand, Mehreen Prizada Kaur looked beautiful together.
But the story looks too similar with all the known beats being touched upon again. That is a big drawback for the film which looks to push for a big blockbuster success at the box office.
It has a positive buzz in Industry insiders but doesn't have any buzz in film lovers as Sye Raa clouded every other film, right now. Chanakya is releasing on 5th October and we have to wait and see if it can be the film for Dussehra even with Sye Raa looming around it.
