All for the love of soaps

Siddharth Varma made his debut in Telugu film industry with the film '3G Love' in 2013 and later he forayed into the television industry. Siddharth is currently donning the role of Aditya in Zee Telugu's serial 'Raktha Sambandham'.

Excerpts from an interview:

Did you always wanted to be an actor?

This is an unexpected journey! I never thought that I would become an actor. I was a very good student who would get good grades. I completed BSC computers and when I started my MCA, I randomly attended an audition and they selected me for the role and that's '3G Love' happened. Slowly things started picking up as in my acting career and after the movie 'Dagudumutha Dandakor' I started working in serials.

What made you shift to the TV industry?

More than movies I was always interested in serials. Basically, people at home like watching serials. One day I got a call from the producers of 'Raktha Sambandham' and I grabbed the opportunity to be part of this serial.

Tell us about your role in the serial.

It is all about family drama. I play the character named Aditya and no one knows to which family he belongs to. My character is very energetic in the beginning and after he falls in love, he becomes very calm.

How do you compare yourself in real and reel life?

There is a lot of difference. I am very close to my mother in real life but then in this serial, I get close to the girl whom I fall in love with. I am opposite in real life.

What do you do in your free time?

We television artists have a group called 'Crazy Couple' and we all have similar work schedules and so we get together twice a month and party. I love going for a long drive in the car and I am very fond of cars as well.

What is your opinion about digital entertainment?

It is a very good thing. Right now, web series are doing well. We can say it is the future of entertainment.
