Mazda art festival celebrates India’s diverse artistic talent

The sixth edition of the ‘Mazda Art Festival’ brought together over 150 artists from across India at the State Gallery of Art in Madhapur, Hyderabad. The festival showcased a wide range of artistic styles and mediums, while creating opportunities for artists to display, sell and pursue their work.
The exhibition featured paintings created using acrylic, charcoal, mixed media and watercolours, with works from both emerging and established artists. Representing a broad age group, the participating artists included young talents as well as senior practitioners, many of whom have chosen art as a full-time profession.
For some artists, the journey into the creative field involved making significant career changes. Several participants had left corporate jobs and lucrative professional careers to follow their passion for art, reflecting the growing importance of creative expression in their lives.
Beyond the display and sale of artworks, the festival also featured live demonstrations by noted artists, offering visitors an opportunity to observe artistic techniques and creative processes firsthand. Artists Achintya Hazra, Maadhavan Goyal and Nishikant Palande were among those who conducted live demonstrations. One of the highlights was a rangoli art demonstration by Nayanaben Katrodiya, a Surat-based rangoli artist, art educator and founder of Kalarpan Art Academy. She drew attention with her detailed portrayal of Telugu cinema star Allu Arjun in his popular ‘Pushpa’ character, showcasing the precision and creativity involved in rangoli art.
The festival also extended support to artists through financial grants presented by the ‘Mazda Art Foundation’. Selected on the basis of merit by a jury, the grants aim to help artists pursue their careers and continue developing their creative practices.
By bringing together artworks, live demonstrations and artist support initiatives, the ‘Mazda Art Festival’ offered a platform that went beyond exhibition. It celebrated artistic diversity, encouraged public engagement with art and recognised the dedication of artists working across generations and mediums.
