Bengaluru: Actress and social worker who represented Karnataka in Miss India 2021 Dr. Pooja Ramesh joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Party State President Prithvi Reddy, Publicity and Public Relations Committee Chairman Chief Minister Chandru and Party State Secretary Kushalaswamy welcomed Pooja to the party.

Prithvi Reddy speaking at the party joining event held at the state office of Aam Aadmi Party said, "Aam Aadmi Party is succeeding in attracting people who are kind and honest. Aam Aadmi Party is a platform for all those who want to bring a positive change in the society and such people should utilize this opportunity in large numbers. Pooja Ramesh, who cares a lot about the society, has boosted the enthusiasm for all of us by joining the party," he said.

Mukhyamantri Chandru said, "While other parties are only promising about women empowerment, Aam Aadmi Party is making it happening by including more women in the party. In other parties, it is common for women to be appointed to power in a nominal position while someone else holds power in their name. But the Aam Aadmi Party does not allow such things and we want to give sensible women like Dr. Pooja Ramesh a chance and bring them to the forefront in politics," he said.

Dr. Pooja Ramesh who joined the Aam Aadmi Party said, "I will contest as an AAP candidate from Raichur Assembly Constituency and wanted to win and serve the people of this constituency. I am committed to the survival and growth of government schools, and the Aam Aadmi Party has implemented the same ideology in Delhi and Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party has created hope in the country's politics. People who were fed up with the inaction and corruption of other parties and stayed away from politics are now seeing politics with a hope because of the Aam Aadmi Party," he said.

Kushalaswamy said, "Pooja Ramesh has started a state level campaign from Hebri in Udupi district for the survival of Kannada schools. She has worked hard to provide food to malnourished pregnant women and children in Raichur district. She had created a stage for an art exhibition of more than 200 rag picking children in Raichur. She had distributed food kits to more than 300 supporting artists of the film industry during the corona pandemic and lockdown. She has received Mahila Sadhaki Award in Bangalore, Basava Award in Vasco, Mother Teresa Award in Raichur, Honorary India Award in Panaji, Honorary Doctorate in Tamil Nadu, Kaveri Ratna in Kodagu and Sunshine Award in Dharwad."
