It is well known that Bathukamma festival will be celebrated in a grand manner annually during Dussehra Navaratri in Telangana. Well, this year too this beautiful and colourful festival begins on 10th October and ends on 18th October. These nine days are celebrated with great pomp and have different names and different offerings.

We Hans India have listed down the significance of each day and also added the prasadams list which are to be offered on each day during Bathukamma festival.

Day One - Engilipoola Bathukamma - October 10

Offerings: Prasadams made with sesame, rice flour, and nooka is offered to the goddess.

Day Two - On October 11 - Atukula Bathukamma.

Offerings: Prasadams made with made of sappidi pappu, jaggery and poha.

Day Three - On October 12 - Muddapappu Bathukamma.

Offerings: Prasadams made with muddapappu, milk, and jaggery.

Day Four - On October 13th - Nane Riyasa Bathukamma

Offerings: Prasadams made with soaked rice, milk, and jaggery.

Day Five - On October 14th - Atla Bathukamma.

Offerings: Dosas are offered as prasadams.

Day Six - On October 15th - Aligina Bathukamma.

Offerings: Prasadams will not be offered on this day as the Goddess is believed to be upset on this day.

Day Seven - On October 16th - Neemkayala Bathukamma.

Offerings: Prasadams made with rice flour in the shape of neem fruits are offered.

Day Eight - October 17th - Venna Muddala Bathukamma.

Offerings: Prasadams made with sesame seeds, butter or ghee and jaggery.

Day Nine - Saddula Bathukamma - October 18.

On the ninth day, five types of prasadams like Perugannam, Chintapandu Pulihora, Nimmakaya Pulihora, Kobbarannam, and Tuvulannam are offered.

On the other hand, let us also know about the flowers used to make the colourful Bathukamma. Pattu kuchhu, Tangedu, Gummadi, Banti, Poka banti and Gunugu flowers are used to make colourful bathukammas on these nine days.
