Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre Wins National Honour for Clinical Excellence in Mental Health & Wellness
In Short
Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre receives a national honour for clinical excellence in mental health and wellness, recognising its commitment to quality patient care.

Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre Wins National Honour for Clinical Excellence in Mental Health & Wellness
Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre has won the “Excellence in Clinical Services - Mental Health & Wellness” award in the National category at the ET Healthcare Awards 2026, organised by ETHealthworld, the healthcare division of The Economic Times.
Presented in New Delhi on September 11, the recognition highlights Jagruti’s approach to delivering structured and consistent mental health, de-addiction and rehabilitation care across its centres.
With more than 18 years in the field and 17+ centres across India, Jagruti has built its clinical model around a central principle: the level of care a patient receives should be determined by clinical need, irrespective of the location or size of the centre they enter.
Staffing According to the Patient, Not the Bed Count
A key part of Jagruti’s approach is its acuity-based clinical staffing model. Instead of applying a uniform staff-to-bed ratio, workforce requirements are determined according to the clinical needs of patients. Conditions such as substance withdrawal, depression, bipolar disorder and co-occurring disorders can require different levels of observation and intervention.
A centre managing several detoxification cases, for instance, requires a different clinical presence from one predominantly providing stable, long-term rehabilitation. Staffing requirements are therefore reviewed as patient profiles change.
Every Jagruti centre also has full-time psychiatrists rather than relying solely on visiting consultants. Daily psychiatric review is built into the care model, supported by round-the-clock nursing coverage.
Technology Supporting Clinical Process
Technology provides an additional layer of support to Jagruti’s clinical teams, helping maintain continuity of patient information, strengthen monitoring, and enable timely intervention where required.
These systems are designed to complement clinical supervision rather than replace it, giving care teams access to relevant information and support as they make clinical decisions.
Standardising Care Across 17+ Centres
As Jagruti has expanded, maintaining consistent standards across locations has remained a key focus.
Defined Standard Operating Procedures guide the clinical journey from admission and assessment through treatment, discharge and aftercare. These protocols are designed to reduce variation between centres, clinicians and shifts, supported by regional clinical leadership and national oversight.
That consistency extends beyond residential treatment. Jagruti follows a structured post-discharge programme with follow up calls at 30, 60 and 90 days, helping clinical teams remain connected with patients and their families as they transition back into everyday life.
Patient and family feedback also forms part of this process. Jagruti collects feedback through discharge forms and post-discharge calls, while families can raise concerns during treatment through a 24x7 helpline and a dedicated grievance channel. More serious concerns or recurring patterns can be escalated to regional and senior leadership for review.
Building a Consistent Clinical Care Model
Jagruti’s national recognition comes after more than 18 years of developing its mental health, addiction and rehabilitation model.
Its clinical infrastructure supports different stages and requirements of mental health and rehabilitation care, with facilities and clinical resources deployed according to patient needs.
Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre also has a 4.6 out of 5 Google rating across more than 1,800 verified reviews, reflecting feedback from patients and families across its centres.
For Dr. Amar Shinde, Founder and Senior Psychiatrist at Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre, the significance of the ET Healthcare Award lies not in the performance of one centre or practitioner, but in recognition of the larger clinical system. In his words, “This is important to us since this recognition isn’t built around a single centre or a single practitioner doing some exceptional work. It shows a system that we have painstakingly built over close to two decades, one in which staffing standards and clinical reviews are the same whether the patient steps into our Mumbai centre or our Chennai centre.”
He also credited Jagruti’s clinical teams across the country for sustaining the model, while pointing to the wider gap that remains between Indians who require mental health and addiction treatment and those who are able to access appropriate care.
What Comes Next
For Jagruti, the ET Healthcare Awards 2026 recognition marks an important milestone, while the larger challenge remains scale.
The organisation plans to open new centres while further developing its technology infrastructure. As its footprint expands, the focus will remain on maintaining consistent clinical standards across locations.
The recognition reflects Jagruti’s effort to build a mental healthcare model in which quality care is not dependent on one doctor or one facility, but supported by systems and clinical practices that can be consistently applied across centres.
