Victory Venkatesh and Akkineni Naga Chaitanya are acting together for the first time in their careers. Amidst huge buzz and promotional campaign, the movie hits the screens today. Read on to know the film's review.

Story:

Venkataratnam Naidu (Venkatesh) raises his nephew Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) like his own son after both his sister and brother in law dies in an accident. Venky's father Ram Narayan (Nassar) is a superstitious person and dislikes Karthik as he is born with Shri Krishna Amsa. Because of the horoscope, Ram Narayan always tries to send Karthik away from Venky. One day, Karthik joins Army without the consent of Venky. Devastated Venky reaches Kashmir in search of his nephew. What is the reason behind Karthik joining the army? Did Venky find his nephew? What happened in the end forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Victory Venkatesh is undoubtedly the major highlight of the film. The actor has proved that no one can beat him in comedy timing yet again with this film. His screen presence will be an eye feast for the audience. It's not easy for Naga Chaitanya to match up the energy of Venkatesh but we can say that the young Hero did his best in delivering an impressive performance in the film. Even his comedy timing is also really good. His performance in the climax is outstanding. Both Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput acted really well in the film and justified their roles. Prakash Raj got a meaty role in this film and he has delivered an impeccable performance. Nasser, Sampath Raj and Rao Ramesh also acted naturally in the film. Posani Krishna Murali, Brahmaji delivered decent performances. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:

KS Ravindra came up with an interesting storyline for the movie. The director not only focused on entertainment but also blended the story with so many emotions and commercial elements. Though his pace of narration kept on fluctuating, he has handled and executed the story well and has succeeded in engaging the audience throughout the film. Production values by Suresh Productions in association with Peoples Media Factory are the highlight of the film. Music by SS Thaman is top-notch. The songs have already become hits and especially his BGM is worth appreciating. Cinematographer Prasad Murella has produced some beautiful visuals for the movie. Editing by Prawin Pudi is decent.

Verdict:

Having a solid storyline became the biggest plus point for this movie. The entire movies revolve around the beautiful relationship between Naga Chaitanya and Venkatesh and the director has executed it in an engaging way. The entire first half is really impressive and full of entertainment. Especially, Venkatesh's comedy timing will make the audience laugh. However, the story takes a big turn in the second half and the sentimental scenes also didn't pan out well. Most of the climax and pre-climax takes place with the military backdrop but the scenes are not that appealing. The script could have been more better. Overall, 'Venky Mama' is a one time watch.
