Watch The Viral Video Of Nashik Activists Releasing 4–5 Dogs Inside Niphad Civic Office In Protest

A protest over the alleged rise in stray dog-related incidents in Maharashtra’s Nashik district took an unusual turn when activists brought four to five stray dogs into the Niphad Nagar Panchayat office.

The protest was led by Yuva Sena district chief Vikram Randhave, who alleged that the civic administration had failed to take adequate measures to address the growing stray dog population in Niphad and surrounding areas.

According to the report, the protesters carried the dogs into the office of Nagar Panchayat Chief Officer Dhiraj Bhamre and released them inside the premises.

The activists also placed garlands made from currency notes on the officer’s table as a form of protest against the civic body’s alleged inaction.

Randhave and other protesters claimed that the increasing number of stray dogs was creating problems for residents, particularly children, senior citizens, women and motorists.

They also alleged that several people had been bitten and that repeated complaints to the Nagar Panchayat had not resulted in sufficient action.

Protesters Demand Sterilisation And Dog-Control Measures

The protesters demanded immediate steps to address the issue, including sterilisation drives and proper arrangements for catching and managing stray dogs.

Randhave also raised the issue during the ongoing Ganeshotsav celebrations, claiming that people visiting Ganesh mandals were facing difficulties because of stray dogs in the area.

He reportedly warned that the protest could be repeated if the administration failed to address residents’ concerns.

Civic Body Assures Action

Chief Officer Dhiraj Bhamre reportedly assured the protesters that the Nagar Panchayat would take steps to address the stray dog issue.

The official also said that the civic body had already begun measures aimed at sterilising stray dogs in the area.

The assurance came after protesters demanded concrete action to control the population and reduce the risk of dog-bite incidents.

Video Sparks Debate On Social Media

The unusual protest has drawn significant attention online, with social media users divided over both the stray dog problem and the manner in which the demonstration was conducted.

Some protesters' concerns were supported by others, who cited the incidents of children and elderly persons being bitten by dogs. Others questioned the choice to bring the animals in through the civic office, saying that the dogs seemed to be afraid and that the way of protest may have harmed them.
