Though green revolution has already ushered in our country, and there is no food shortage, the farmers remain unhappy
Give farmers their due share
Though green revolution has already ushered in our country, and there is no food shortage, the farmers remain unhappy. It is not enough if peasants are assured of their Minimum Support Prices (MSP) alone. Unless the avocation of agriculture and its allied activities are made lucrative, the farmers are sure to leave farming and take to other sources of livelihood. And if this were to happen on a massive scale pan India whether in the foreseeable future or in a phased manner, the granaries of the country would be emptied for sure.
Hunger and deaths would stalk the nation. Against this alarming scenario, it would be incumbent on the part of the Central government of India though the Ministry of Agriculture to redress all legitimate grievances of the farmers expeditiously and not keep prolonging the issue for an unduly long time. This goes out as a humble appeal to all the stakeholders involved. Hope the Union government and the farmers' representatives would end the stalemate soon.

Let all three parties have their mayors in turns
After bitter fighting between the parties and the war of words, the GHMC has got a truncated verdict with no one being able to muster enough strength to have Mayor on their own and left to depend on another party. It is sincerely hoped that the three parties perhaps do some out of the box thinking rather than resorting to the good old machinations of weaning the corporators from one party to another.
They can reach a consensus on time-bound mayoral post in tune with the much-harped slogan of Mahatma Gandhi in 1922 when he urged the rest of India to emulate the Ganga-Jamuna tehzeeb that Hyderabad people possess even this day. This way, they can send a new signal that India is changing on its political landscape and for a change and for freshness in politics, the three parties sit across and elect respective Mayors on time bound basis. This may be construed as a dream but why not make it true when there is a will. I am sure most of the peace and wisdom loving people of Hyderabad will welcome this gesture.

Don't let them destroy communal harmony
It is shocking to read and listen that a few communal thinkers are calling Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar. Is it because of their recent entry in the GHMC election? Such communal utterance will certainly disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Hyderabad city which is famous for its Ganga Jamuni Tahzeeb. So, all political parties and NGOs should oppose such pronunciation to save the peace in the city.

Protests should not affect public
Whenever people want to solve the demands with the government, they call for a Bharat Bandh or sit on the rail tracks or staging protest on the roads. This type of protest not only causes inconvenience to the common people, but also affects the economy of the country. There is a need to stop the observing bandh system in the country. People should protest and keep the demands before the government in a democratic way.
In our country, our people already enjoy so many holidays, so we have to protest by stopping the Prime Minister's or Ministers convoy and should not give permission to the Ministers to work from their offices. We have to keep in mind that bandh does only affects the rich people, but poor are also adversely affected. We hope that protestors should raise their demands by not observing bandhs but by hampering the Ministers' work and keep the protest in front of Ministers' residences till the demands are solved.
