AP CM Chandrababu urges District Collectors to focus on results and public service

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu urged District Collectors to serve the people free of ego and be effective public servants who can showcase results and move on by addressing the challenges. In the 8 th District Collectors’ Conference chaired by the Chief Minister, held here today, issues like leadership, GSDP, drinking water, housing, Jaladhara and best practices in various districts were discussed.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Naidu said that they had to relook at the resolutions passed at the 7th Collectors’ Conference and strive to achieve the targets set. “A special session on leadership was also allocated in the agenda of this conference,” he said. The Chief Minister said that they had put the state’s economy on rails within 27 months of the state’s formation. He also said that they had spent ₹1.40 lakh crore on welfare and ₹1.50 lakh crore on development. “We have taken up several mission-mode projects under the themes like ‘Rayalaseema Rising’, ‘New Horizons for Coastal Andhra’ and ‘Giving Wings to North Andhra’s Dreams.” he said.

He said that they had completed projects like Handri-Neeva, Veligonda Phase-1, Polavaram Left Canal and Bhogapuram International Airport. “The Polavaram project will be completed and dedicated to the nation by March 2027,” he added. The Chief Minister also said that the Seed Access Road in Amaravati had been completed, virtually connecting the capital with Guntur and Vijayawada. He was happy that The Economic Times had carried a story referring to him as “Waterman”. “I was not this thrilled even when my name figured in the “Global Dream Cabinet” or when I was called as a “CEO-like Chief Minister.”

CM said that certain areas in the state were facing water scarcity due to the topography and he felt immense happiness by correcting this and providing water to these people. “India’s development will be unstoppable if we interlink the Godavari, Cauvery, Mahanadi, Ganga and other rivers to create a water grid,” he said. He was delighted that he was called “Waterman” for his water security and water conservation initiatives.

He said that they had drawn up a schedule to complete 36 projects and everyone has a responsibility to ensure that these are completed. “All of us must feel that these are our projects and we have to take ownership and deliver,” he said. The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Modi and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their support and cooperation. “It is a team success. It is not a single person’s achievement or even a few leaders. People at the grassroots, officials, employees and representatives have contributed immensely in these achievements. Even the ministers and Special Chief Secretaries present here have played their part,” he said.
