SRM AP hosts national summit on Post-Quantum Cryptography
Amaravati: CV Sridhar, Managing Director of AP SQM, outlined the vision and roadmap of the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative at a national stakeholder consultation workshop on Post-Quantum Cryptography and Cybersecurity hosted by SRM University-AP.
The workshop, convened by Amaravati Quantum Valley, brought together policymakers, academics, regulators and industry representatives to discuss strategies for developing quantum-resistant digital infrastructure and preparing India’s digital ecosystem for emerging cybersecurity threats posed by quantum computing.
Sridhar traced the origins of the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative, launched last year to develop a strong quantum hardware ecosystem by supporting startups and connecting them with advanced computing infrastructure, including the IIT Madras quantum network and IBM quantum platforms.
SRM AP Vice-Chancellor Prof Ch Satish Kumar, inaugurating the proceedings, highlighted the university’s ambition to emerge as a global research hub. Dr Sudeep Oberai, Chairman of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Expert Committee on Post-Quantum Cryptography, explained the regulatory challenges involved in transitioning to quantum-resistant security systems.
During the interactive session, Punjab National Bank representatives shared their progress in developing migration roadmaps under the Reserve Bank of India’s cybersecurity framework, including considerations relating to system latency and implementation challenges.
