Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh’s ‘Super Six’ welfare architecture is rapidly becoming a major recurring expenditure commitment, with the government reporting over Rs 12,110 crore already released to farming families, Rs 3,267 crore spent on women’s free bus travel and another Rs 3,942 crore disbursed as cooking-gas subsidy.
The financial and beneficiary impact of the flagship promises came under review at the Collectors’ Conference chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday. The biggest direct-support component, Annadatha Sukhibhava–PM Kisan, has covered 46.86 lakh farmer families. The State’s contribution is Rs 14,000 per family, supplemented by Rs 6,000 from PM-KISAN. The latest Kharif instalment of Rs 3,125.47 crore was released on June 20, taking cumulative releases since 2025–26 to Rs 12,110.88 crore.
The Stree Shakti scheme is emerging as one of the government’s largest recurring transport subsidies. Women have made 9,188.77 lakh free journeys since its August 2025 launch, costing the government Rs 3,267 crore. With about 24 lakh women travelling free every day, their share of RTC passengers has risen from 40 per cent to 62 per cent. The fiscal pressure extends to education and household consumption. Thalliki Vandanam targets 68.06 lakh students in 2026–27, requiring Rs 10,208.68 crore. Benefits worth Rs 9,714.88 crore have already reached 64.76 lakh students.
Under Deepam-2, Rs 3,942 crore has been released as cooking-gas subsidy to 1.10 crore beneficiaries. The sixth phase is now underway. The government has also spent Rs 436 crore under Auto Driver Seva and Rs 29 crore on free or concessional travel for persons with disabilities.
