Collector directs robust measures to prevent road accidents
Anantapur: District Collector O Anand and SP Jagadeesh chaired a Road Safety Committee meeting at the Collectorate on Thursday, calling for proactive measures to curb road accidents. Highlighting the loss of lives due to rising vehicle usage, the Collector ordered the identification of black spots, installation of speed breakers, and placement of radium signboards at culverts.
He stressed strict enforcement against drunk driving, missing helmets, and seat belt violations. Officials were also directed to establish paid parking facilities, enforce designated parking, and clear urban vacant plots of garbage.
