Holiday swim ends in drowning of three 12-year-olds
Chikkamgaluru : A school holiday preceded a fatal outing by three children who entered a tank to swim and drowned, the incident occurring at Chikka Kere in Marle village under Chikkamagaluru taluk. Identification has named the dead boys Tarun, Bhuvan and Likhith. The three were Class 6 students aged 12, and the holiday from school was the reason they set out for the tank.
Death came while they swam in a hollow within the tank. Rural police of Chikkamagaluru went to the spot once the incident became known and inspected it. The rural police station has registered a case, and the investigation is continuing. Sorrow has spread through Marle village after the three children died.
