Bengaluru: Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has intensified his attack on the Congress government over the alleged sting operation controversy, claiming that attempts were being made to frame him and send him to jail, similar to the case involving former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.

Kumaraswamy alleged that discussions had been underway for the past few days to implicate him. “A woman was sent and Revanna was put behind bars for five days. Now, attempts are being made to send me to jail in a similar manner,” he alleged.

Questioning the investigation into an audio recording allegedly involving Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Kumaraswamy asked why the matter had not been properly investigated. He claimed that a person who should be questioned in the case was moving around freely and alleged that the person had been seen sitting comfortably at the Deputy Commissioner of Police’s office.

Demanding an investigation into the alleged circulation of sting operation videos, Kumaraswamy challenged Shivakumar to hand over his mobile phone for examination first. Responding to Home Minister Priyank Kharge’s statement that Kumaraswamy would also be summoned if suspicions arose, the Union Minister challenged him to arrest him immediately.

Addressing Siddaramaiah, Kumaraswamy urged him not to become a “sacrificial lamb” and to face the controversy boldly. He said he had fought against Siddaramaiah politically in the past but had never resorted to keeping videos against him.

Referring to earlier warnings by Ramesh Jarkiholi about the possibility of videos involving Siddaramaiah and G. Parameshwara emerging, Kumaraswamy questioned whether the State needed a Chief Minister who, he alleged, was involved in such practices.“I sleep peacefully. It is you who are losing sleep,” he said.
