Eluru: Civil Supplies Minister and Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee (PAC) chairman Nadendla Manohar said the coalition parties were aiming for a 100 per cent strike rate in the upcoming local body elections and would work in coordination to secure a bigger majority in Eluru Municipal Corporation than in 2024.

Addressing a media conference after a coordination meeting of coalition parties here on Monday, Manohar said a concrete plan had been prepared to accelerate development of Eluru city. He described the selection of Jana Sena leader Reddy Appala Naidu, who rose from humble beginnings as a hamali worker and trade union leader, as the party’s candidate for the mayor’s post as a significant decision by Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan. Manohar said Pawan Kalyan was committed to providing political opportunities to ordinary people who worked hard for society. He added that the coalition partners had a clear understanding regarding the allocation of corporator tickets and were determined to work together for electoral success.

The Minister said the coalition government was maintaining a balance between development and welfare across Andhra Pradesh. A victory in the local body elections would help extend development initiatives further at the municipal level.

He appealed to voters to elect Reddy Appala Naidu as mayor and ensure a decisive victory for coalition candidates in all 62 divisions of the municipal corporation. The coalition parties would campaign jointly and seek the people’s mandate to take Eluru’s development forward, he said.

Earlier, Manohar held a special meeting with Jana Sena candidates contesting in 18 divisions of Eluru Municipal Corporation.

Candidates should understand local issues, identify practical solutions and explain their proposals to residents while seeking their support.

Each division required a separate development plan based on the needs of its people, he said.

Manohar reminded party workers of the efforts and sacrifices made by Pawan Kalyan to build the Jana Sena Party.

Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishnaiah, Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Unguturu MLA Patsamatla Dharmaraju and coalition leaders Kishore, Ambica Krishna and Nara Seshu, along with mayoral candidate Reddy Appala Naidu, attended the meeting.
