The Awareness programme being launched
Mangalagiri: The Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR), in collaboration with ChildFund India, has launched a State-level awareness programme, “Web Safe and Wise,” aimed at protecting children from online harassment and cyber threats. Speaking on the occasion here on Wednesday, APSCPCR chairman AVS Vetukuri Suryanarayana Raju said the initiative was designed to address the growing online risks faced by children in the digital era.
The programme seeks to protect children from online sexual abuse, cybercrimes, online fraud, digital blackmailing and cyberbullying, besides creating a strong and safe digital environment across the State.
The Commission, in collaboration with ChildFund India, would also conduct a State-level survey and research study to understand the nature and extent of online harassment faced by children and identify suitable measures to address the problem. A brochure titled “Safe Internet for Children” was unveiled on the occasion.
APSCPCR member K G Venkata Padmalatha, Member Secretary G Umadevi, ChildFund India Regional Lead (Programme and Partnerships), South and West India, Amara Kumar Singh, and Programme Specialist Ashok Kumar Panda, among others, participated in the programme.
