Hyderabad / Khammam: Twenty-five single mothers and widows were provided employment opportunities under the “25 Jobs for 25 Women” initiative, organised by Bharat Ke Anmol and Godh Foundation in association with Nari Shakti Forum, in Hyderabad.
Dr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, former BJP National Co-Incharge for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and former Telangana Legislative Council member, attended the job offer distribution ceremony as the Guest of Honour at the Press Club, Somajiguda.
The initiative was conceived as a tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25-year public governance journey, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001 and continuing with his tenure as Prime Minister since 2014.
Addressing the gathering, Sudhakar Reddy said the programme reflected the principles of women-led development, self-reliance and inclusive growth. He emphasised that employment opportunities could help single mothers and widows achieve financial independence, dignity and greater security for their families.
“An appointment letter represents more than employment. It brings dignity, confidence, security and hope for the children of these women,” he said.
He highlighted several government initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Lakhpati Didi initiative, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Mission Shakti. These programmes, he said, reflected a broader shift from women’s welfare to women-led development.
Sudhakar Reddy stressed that empowerment should extend beyond distributing job offer letters and include suitable training, meaningful employment, workplace dignity and opportunities for career advancement.
He called for greater collaboration among government agencies, industries, social organisations and citizens to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable sections of society.
He commended the organisers, participating employers, sponsors and volunteers for supporting the initiative, describing employment generation as a meaningful expression of social responsibility.
Ashok Kumar Thatipalli of Vision Infotech, Mazit, chairman of Pista House, Balakrishna of Rap Motors, BJP state leader Vanjari Vinod Kumar and journalist Indrani were among those who attended the programme.
Sudhakar Reddy said initiatives supporting women’s economic independence would strengthen families and contribute to the broader goal of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
