Hyderabad: Hyderabad MP and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday warned of massive street protests across the state capital over the alleged widespread misuse of Form 7 during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana.

Appealing directly to the Election Commission of India, Owaisi demanded swift legal action against individuals submitting false deletion claims to compromise voter list integrity.

Addressing a religious gathering, Owaisi stated that if fraudulent Form 7 applications were being submitted without check, the authorities must hold those responsible accountable.

He warned that if this practice does not cease immediately, demonstrations larger than those seen at Delhi Jantar Mantar will erupt across Hyderabad streets, creating severe challenges for administrators while emphasizing that AIMIM will not remain silent.

Form 7 is an official application utilised to raise objections against name inclusions or request deletions from electoral rolls based on valid grounds. Alleging that the BJP and Sangh Parivar are systematically abusing the form to disenfranchise Muslim electors, Owaisi pointed out that pre-printed Form 7 documents are being submitted containing deletion targets while omitting necessary details of applicants filing them.

Terming such practices completely illegal, Owaisi called upon the Election Commission of India, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy, and district electoral officers to intervene immediately and scrutinize suspicious applications.

Although filing an objection does not trigger automatic voter removal without mandated verification, Owaisi insisted that electoral authorities must investigate fraudulent filings to ensure transparency throughout the voter revision drive.
