Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar lashed out at the BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, saying that KTR’s political history is defined by leveraging your father’s name to secure positions.

On the other hand, “We have worked hard for the people--enduring lathi blows and leading movements--rising from the grassroots level to where we are today.” Taking strong exception to certain statements made by the BRS leader and his party trolls on Wednesday, the Union Minister said, when a massive turnout of party workers and the public gathered for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s ‘padayatra’, “I stepped in to help manage the crowd—and you dare to mock me by calling me a ‘bouncer’? Do we look like ‘bouncers’ to you, just because we stepped in to help organise the crowd that came for our party? It is your culture to have party workers attacked by bouncers.”

The Karimnagar MP said that KTR has a history of abandoning your own party workers the entire time you were in power. The BRS holds the dubious distinction of having plundered Telangana by selling off its lands. He added that the BRS completely disregarded all the promises it once made to the people, and KCR’s family even sought to profit by selling off the Miyapur lands for a pittance,” he alleged.

Turning his ire to the ruling Congress party in the state, Sanjay Kumar said that it is now following the same path as the BRS. The Congress is casting aside its ‘6 Guarantees’ and preparing to sell off the Miyapur lands to pay tribute to the political bosses in Delhi.

Raising the issue of the death of a woman conductor, he said it is deeply distressing that an RTC conductor lost her life after falling during a scuffle involving woman. He urged people not to take out their anger toward the Congress party on RTC workers. “Despite facing numerous hardships, RTC workers continue to provide dedicated service. But RTC employees are left without any pension after they retire. Upon retirement, these workers are forced to endure a difficult life,” he noted.

Sanjay said that RTC workers deserve credit for safely transporting 10 million passengers to their destinations every day. One must approach these RTC workers, who continue to serve with patience even under the most difficult circumstances, with a humanitarian perspective.
