I would like to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities the unchecked garbage dumping problem in a residential area in Begumpet. People are throwing household waste, plastic, cardboard and food waste directly on the roadside, turning the area into an open dumping spot.
The garbage is piling up close to residential houses, giving off a foul smell and making the surroundings unhygienic for the people living there. It can also attract stray animals and insects and become a bigger health concern if the waste continues to remain uncleared.
The entire garbage should be immediately cleared. Besides, regular clearance of garbage is vital to prevent these spots from becoming dumping points again. Warning boards can be put up and action taken against those who deliberately dump wastes on the road. The authorities should also check whether garbage collection in the lane is taking place regularly.
Residents should not have to deal with a garbage piles outside their homes. I hope the concerned civic authorities will look into the issue and take necessary action.
