Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC Tata Madhusudhan triggered a political storm on the first day of the Assembly session on Monday with his alleged derogatory comments against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar during a protest outside the Assembly. Congress legislators alleged that Madhu had stated that former chief minister and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was not attending the Assembly because he did not want to address the Speaker (who belongs to a Dalit community) as ‘Sir’.
The police were disrupting a protest by BRS MLAs at the Martyrs Memorial outside the Assembly when Madhu had lost his cool and shouted at the cops. The BRS MLC allegedly used objectionable language against the Speaker. He addressed the Speaker in a disrespectful manner and made insulting comments against his mother as well, it is alleged.
In protest against the “police highhandedness” on BRS legislators during the dharna, Madhu removed his black T shirt and demanded that the Speaker should take action against the police for restricting them from entering the Assembly. He questioned the police for not allowing them into the House without any directions in this regard from the Speaker. Madhu also raised the issue of restrictions imposed on the movements of the Opposition members in the Assembly.
