Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Thursday said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy must take full responsibility for the collapse of the power sector and the alleged Singareni coal scam in Telangana.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, Dasoju Sravan expressed gratitude to Singareni workers and the public for making BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s recent public meeting in Godavarikhani a grand success. He launched a scathing attack on the Congress government over its ill-conceived energy policies, escalating power outages, and corruption within the mining sector.

Dasoju Sravan recalled that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao increased the state generation capacity from 7,000 MW to 20,000 MW, delivering a golden era free of power cuts. However, he lamented that under A Revanth Reddy’s administration, those achievements are being completely destroyed. While farmers across Telangana protest before electrical substations and industrial units operate on back-up generators, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka falsely claim that no power disruptions exist.

Dasoju Sravan demanded to know why the capacity of the 4,000 MW Yadadri power plant was reduced to just 400 MW and the 1,200 MW Jainoor plant scaled down to 544 MW. He stressed that threatening officials with suspension would not conceal administrative failures.

Pointing out that Congress leaders in Delhi demand resignations over electoral irregularities, Dasoju Sravan questioned who should be held accountable for 40 lakh metric tonnes of missing coal worth Rs 1,600 crore in Singareni. He demanded a formal inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation or a sitting judge, warning that this represents a conspiracy to privatise Singareni and hand operations to Adani. Demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for pushing Telangana into darkness, Dasoju Sravan insisted the state cabinet accept full accountability for the power crisis and coal scam.
