Hyderabad: A major burglary occurred within Uppal police station limits where an unidentified intruder broke into a house in New Bharat Nagar Colony, stealing 48 tolas of gold, 1.5 kg of silver, and Rs 3.5 lakh in cash.

The incident took place around 2 am while home owner Bhaskar Reddy and his family were away visiting the Komuravelli temple. CCTV footage reportedly captured a suspect wearing a burqa breaking the door locks, entering the residence, and ransacking a cupboard containing valuables.

The crime came to light early Tuesday morning when the housemaid noticed broken locks and alerted the family. Upon returning, the family found belongings scattered and gold, silver, and cash missing.
