Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s chamber in the Assembly has got a facelift with the addition of a separate VIP waiting room. Restrictions have also been imposed on the movement of visitors around the CM’s chamber in view of tightened security arrangements for the Assembly session that began on Monday.

The entrance to the CM’s chamber has been modified, while additional facilities have been provided in the special waiting room. Security personnel have been instructed to allow visitors, including MLAs, to meet the Chief Minister only with prior permission. The chambers of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu have also been refurbished with new furniture. Sridhar Babu performed a special puja before beginning his official activities in the new chamber.

Interestingly, the chambers of all ministers have been shifted to the first floor. Speaker G Prasad Kumar and Secretary Rendla Thirupathi’s chambers have been shifted adjacent to the Speaker’s office. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Central Hall inside the Assembly to provide sitting facilities for MLAs and MLCs during the session. The new facility has been named after former Speaker of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Assembly D Sripada Rao. Officials said more restrictions are likely to be imposed as part of the security measures during the session.
