In Short
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy celebrates his birthday with women self-help groups, pledging to empower 10 million women as millionaires through financial support and government welfare schemes.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said his main ambition was to help ten million women become millionaires, as he celebrated his birthday with members of women’s self-help groups.
“My greatest joy is celebrating my birthday with all of you, my sisters. Your blessings give me strength. I have no personal desires and aspire to no high office. My sole mission is to empower ten million women to become millionaires, and I will devote all my energy to it,” he said at an interactive session organised for his birthday.
He urged women to ensure their daughters received higher education and asked them to make that commitment on his birthday. “Do not let your daughters face the hardships you have faced. When women are in charge, a household remains peaceful,” he said.
Reddy said women were running petrol stations and contributing to solar power generation. He said the government had provided ₹79,000 crore in bank-linked loans to self-help groups and paid ₹1,900 crore in interest on those loans. He also said house-site titles had been issued in women’s names and that ₹13,000 crore had been allocated to the Mahalakshmi scheme.
Addressing criticism of the scheme, he said it had helped the state-run Road Transport Corporation, which had previously been operating at a loss, move towards profitability. “There is no question of cancelling free bus travel,” he said, adding that some people, including auto-rickshaw operators, had tried to oppose him.
He also said his government had provided fine-quality rice, known as *sanna biyyam*, and contrasted its record on women’s representation with the previous administration, saying no woman had been appointed to a ministerial position during KCR’s time in office.
Reddy said 4.5 lakh new pensions had been sanctioned, including 3.5 lakh for single women and widows. He also criticised KTR, making allegations about his treatment of his sister, and asked him to explain what he had delivered during his ten years in power.
“I am happy when the women of this state are happy; your happiness is my happiness. May your blessings always remain with me,” Reddy said.
