Hyderabad: The Congress party demanded that KT Rama Rao and other BRS leaders explain the source of their assets, clarifying that the party is not targeting private properties but seeking answers regarding alleged land irregularities. Alleging that the drug and farmhouse culture in Telangana is linked to BRS leaders, Congress alleged that farmhouses built by opposition leaders in GO 111 areas violated prescribed regulations. Congress leaders made these assertions during field visits under their ongoing Farmhouse Files campaign, stating that inspections aim to expose alleged land irregularities publicly. On Sunday, the Congress team inspected a farmhouse area in Aziz Nagar linked to former minister T Harish Rao, with plans to visit former MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy’s Moinabad farmhouse.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that assets accumulated by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s family exceed those of the Nizam, questioning the wealth source. Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that Harish Rao constructed a farmhouse at Ranganayak Sagar in Siddipet and transferred Lavonipatta lands into his name, challenging claims that BRS properties are ancestral. The MP stated that farmhouses in Janwada and Aziz Nagar violated GO 111 regulations, emphasizing that field inspections aim to present facts publicly. He further questioned why nearly 300 acres of assigned land surrounding KCR’s farmhouse were withheld instead of being distributed to Dalits.
Parigi MLA T Rammohan Reddy affirmed that Congress will continue field inspections across all districts where BRS leaders allegedly acquired land irregularly, ensuring the Farmhouse Files drive extends beyond Hyderabad. Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah targeted Harish Rao, alleging he utilised a decade in power to acquire farmhouses around Hyderabad and lands in Siddipet before resorting to political rhetoric when questioned. Government Whip Dr Balmuri Venkat alleged that the state's drug and farmhouse culture is tied to BRS leaders, noting that Congress MPs, MLCs, and MLAs inspected alleged encroachments for a third consecutive day to expose violations.
The visiting delegation comprised MPs Mallu Ravi, Balaram Naik, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, and Anil Yadav, alongside MLCs Addanki Dayakar and Balmoor Venkat. Key participating MLAs included Beerla Ilaiah, T Rammohan Reddy, Manohar Reddy, VeerlapalliShankaraiah, and Naveen Yadav, accompanied by Congress leader Charan Kaushik Yadav among others. The Congress party reiterated its firm resolve to continue statewide inspections, aiming to bring complete transparency regarding alleged land acquisitions, regulatory violations, and illegal constructions by prominent BRS leaders directly before the public eye.
