Hyderabad: In accordance with the recent Cabinet decision, the Telangana government on Wednesday issued orders sanctioning two pending instalments of Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners. As per the orders, the increased DA would be paid on November 1, along with the salary for October 2026. The government will pay the DA arrears for the period from January 2024 to September 2026 in 33 instalments. Similarly, the DA arrears for the period from July 2024 to September 2026 will be paid in 27 instalments. The state government clarified that the DA arrears will be credited to the employees' GPF accounts. The order said that the DA has been raised from 33.67 per cent to 37.31 per cent effective January 2024, and a decision was made to further increase it from 37.31 per cent to 40.04 per cent effective from July 2024.

Additionally, for employees under the 2015 pay scale, the DA was increased from 73.344 per cent to 78.06 per cent (and further to 81.728% from July 2024). The employees under the 2020 pay scale would get DA increased from 37.31 per cent to 40.04 per cent.

The government also decided to hike the DA for employees under UGC and AICTE pay scales. For employees on the 2016 pay scale, the DA has increased from 46 per cent to 50 per cent, and further to 53 per cent effective July 2024.

Similarly, orders were issued to raise the DA for employees on the 2006 pay scale from 230% to 239%, and further to 246% effective July 2024.
