Hyderabad: Saroornagar police registered cases against former BJP corporator Akula Srivani and others on Wednesday for allegedly making objectionable comments capable of flaring communal tension. According to police, Akula Srivani alongside party activists visited a local school, targeting teaching staff with abusive remarks concerning a religion and place of worship.
Despite teachers responding calmly to queries, the former corporator made inflammatory statements. Following widespread circulation of the video on social media platforms, police initiated legal action and confirmed seeking legal advice regarding further proceedings.
