GHMC uses new spray to curb mosquito menace

GHMC has increased its efforts to eradicate mosquitoes in Greater Hyderabad. GHMC entomology department has been lately using spray made of Alpha Cypher Methane and water and using it in Dengue-affected areas, schools and colleges.
Hyderabad: GHMC has increased its efforts to eradicate mosquitoes in Greater Hyderabad. GHMC entomology department has been lately using spray made of Alpha Cypher Methane and water and using it in Dengue-affected areas, schools and colleges.
The spray will form a layer on the walls and kills mosquitoes immediately. The affect of this spray will last for 45 days on the walls. GHMC entomology department is expecting that this process would be successful to stop mosquito breeding.
Till now, the process took place at 2,443 government, private and aided schools. In addition, GHMC entomology department and health officers conducted awareness programmes to students in 1,361 schools in GHMC division.
