Gopichand lauded for tapping latent talent
Veteran badminton player Pullela Gopichand was lauded by Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, VC Sajjannar, for his contribution in churning national-level players in the badminton field. He was inaugurating Yonex All Indian Badminton Tournament began at Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, Gachibowli.
Gachibowli: Veteran badminton player Pullela Gopichand was lauded by Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, VC Sajjannar, for his contribution in churning national-level players in the badminton field. He was inaugurating Yonex All Indian Badminton Tournament began at Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, Gachibowli.
Sajjannar said Cyberabad police was willing to associate with Gopichand. This unprecedented rise in Indian badminton was possible due to the increasing levels of consistency from stars like Srikanth, PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy and B Sai Praneeth at national and international level tournaments. "The main reason behind the unearthing and nurturing of these talent powerhouses is attributed to one man who has changed the course of Indian badminton Pullela Gopichand," he said
CP also appreciated former national badminton coach Vimal kumar for his contribution to badminton and guidance to the new-comers. He won for India several national titles, he added.
