Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing, and Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy stressed the need for a permanent resolution to boundary disputes between Revenue and Forest department lands, directing departmental officials to conduct joint field surveys to resolve long-pending disputes. Presiding over a high-level review meeting held on Monday at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, attended by senior representatives from the Revenue, Forest, and Survey and Settlement departments, the Minister emphasized that ordinary citizens and agrarian farmers must not face administrative hardships due to inter-departmental land disputes. He instructed officials to work in close coordination and execute comprehensive joint surveys at the ground level.

The Minister suggested that the Revenue and Forest departments jointly undertake field surveys using modern technology and scientific methodologies to accurately identify and demarcate land boundaries. He observed that scientific demarcation would help resolve existing disputes permanently while preventing similar land conflicts from emerging in the future. He further stated that the state government is undertaking comprehensive administrative reforms through the Survey, Settlement, and Land Records department to strengthen land governance across Telangana. Ensuring complete transparency and accuracy in public land records remains a primary objective of the state administration, he added.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy instructed officials to work with dedicated coordination and commitment to resolve decades-old land disputes at the earliest, ensuring that the general public does not face unnecessary procedural difficulties. He also appealed directly to farmers and local residents to cooperate fully with survey teams during field-level operations. As part of the implementation mechanism, the Minister directed officials to constitute joint committees comprising Revenue and Forest department representatives at both district and mandal levels to oversee and expedite the survey process. The high-level meeting was attended by Revenue Secretary Lokesh Kumar, Commissioner of Survey and Settlement Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Vinay Kumar, and other senior departmental officials.
