Graduate voter registrations touch 10 lakh
Hyderabad: Close to ten lakh applications were received across Telangana, including over 5.5 lakh from voters under the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda and over 4.5 lakh from the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates constituencies.
Voters can register till the last date of candidate nomination filings in the Graduates constituency election. Over 90,000 voters registered in Nalgonda district, followed by over 84,000 in Khammam. Five districts in this constituency recorded more than 50,000 voters: Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanumakonda, and Khammam. The least number of applications came from Siddipet with 6,142 registered voters.
In the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates constituency, over 1.12 lakh voters registered from Rangareddy, followed by 1.1 lakh in Medchal Malkajgiri district. Apart from these two districts, only Hyderabad achieved significant registration numbers, with over 63,000 voters applying.
The lowest application count was in Narayanpet with 16,019 registrations. The prescribed application deadline set by the Election Commission of India was November 6.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission issued a clarification regarding the submission deadline. The EC stated that to avoid confusion among citizens, Form-18 applications can be submitted up to November 6, 2026, during the claims and objections period from November 25 to December 10, 2026, and also from the final electoral roll publication date on December 30, 2026, up to the last date for filing nominations. This ensures eligible graduate electors receive multiple opportunities to register systematically before polling schedules are finalized.
