Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Sunday called upon graduates to revolt against what he termed “Congress-mark governance” and teach the ruling party a lesson in the upcoming Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy Graduates MLC elections.
Addressing a special graduates’ meeting organised by former corporator Mahesh Yadav and BRSV leader Madhukar Yadav, Sravan offered guidance on voter registration and electoral strategy.
He recalled that freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Bhagat Singh began their struggles during their youth. Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), too, entered constitutional politics early and led the movement for Telangana statehood, he said.
Expressing concern over political apathy among educated youth, Sravan said only 8,000 graduate votes were registered in Khairatabad constituency during previous elections, resulting in poor turnout. He lamented that many educated citizens treated polling days as holidays, unlike voters who responsibly exercised their franchise.
Sravan credited former IT Minister KT Rama Rao with transforming Hyderabad into a global destination by attracting leading IT and pharmaceutical companies and creating nearly 20 lakh private-sector jobs.
