Hyderabad : Senior TRS leader and Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Monday hit out at the BJP for carrying out misinformation campaign on social media for the GHMC polls.

Addressing a press conference at Patancheru area in the city, he lashed out and said that the BJP is resorting to belittling politics for just a few seats and some votes. Out of their frustration for the polls BJP is resorting to a misinformation campaign, he alleged.

The Minister took serious exception to the BJP for hate and religious provocations besides bad campaign. Harish Rao accused the frustrated BJP of making undemocratic moves by bringing in its national chief and 12 central ministers of no use. It turned the social media into the fake media and it is unwelcomed, the Minister said. Is it right to bring the central ministers for local polls, he questioned and pointed out that the BJP national leaders abstained from coming to the city when it was in flood waters and denied funds.

He said that Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has appealed time and again for the funds, to help the flood victims but the Centre did not respond. Now, for the sake of GHMC polls, they are making false promises, he charged. The centre is partisan towards our State and KCR has offered Rs 650 crore to the flood victims, he said.

The government in the Centre denied timely help and we will spend about Rs 400 cr to help the flood victims, he assured. They have prepared false logos stating that he and other TRS leaders are changing the parties, he fumed and said that this was done during Dubbaka by poll and the BJP cannot do such violations.

The Minister ridiculed the BJP and said that the party has roped in several union ministers and belittled the democratic norms. Even the Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the city, though he did not address any BJP programme, it was a poll strategy, he opined.

The BJP has turned the social media into anti-social media and are mocking democracy, Harish fumed and said that the people in the city will teach BJP a fitting lesson as they are ready to reject them.
