Hyderabad: Doctors Cricket League kicks off
A refreshing game for around 300 doctors, a five-day ‘National Doctors Cricket League’ (NDCL) 2020 season - 4 was inaugurated by the Sports Authority of Telangana State Chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy at Ramcharan Cricket Ground in Shamshabad on Wednesday.
Hyderabad: A refreshing game for around 300 doctors, a five-day 'National Doctors Cricket League' (NDCL) 2020 season - 4 was inaugurated by the Sports Authority of Telangana State Chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy at Ramcharan Cricket Ground in Shamshabad on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mighty Sports Director Nanda Pandey said that the frontline healthcare workers who were involved in the fight against Covid-19 were being honoured. "Around 300 doctors from the various states of the country formed 15 teams for participating in the 'National Doctors Cricket League' (NDCL) started at Ramcharan and Vardhaman cricket grounds in Shamshabad. The NDCL has come as a huge de-stress for the Corona Warriors."
The NDCL would conclude on December 27 with the finals. "Normally, a doctor's life is very busy and Covid-19 pandemic has given them huge stress, NDCL will be a relief for them. Doctors usually meet under such different circumstances in hospitals. This cricket league is being organized all over the country, recently we have held a cricket league in Goa happening for the past few years gives them another meeting ground where they have a chance to catch up and have fun," said Nikhil Sampath, Co-founder of Mighty Sports.
