Hyderabad to host grand Raksha Expo in December
Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju said a grand Raksha Expo would be organised in Hyderabad from December 7 to 9 as part of the Telangana Global Summit–2026, with an Air Show scheduled for December 9.
Sanjay Jaju reviewed the arrangements for the Raksha Expo at a meeting held at the Secretariat on Thursday. He discussed the participation of defence and aerospace companies, infrastructure, security arrangements, publicity and other related issues.
The Chief Secretary said nearly 30 per cent of India’s defence and aerospace industries are based in Hyderabad, making the city a major hub for the two sectors. The Raksha Expo would provide a significant platform to promote their growth and attract investments to Telangana, he said. He directed officials to invite leading national and international defence, aerospace and arms manufacturing companies to participate in the Expo. As part of the promotional campaign, roadshows would be held in Hyderabad on October 24 and in New Delhi on October 29.
Sanjay Jaju said the State government was according priority to the development of the defence and aerospace sectors and noted that an airfield strip was being developed in Adilabad district.
He directed officials to ensure the participation of industry bodies, including FICCI, ASSOCHAM, SIDM and MSMEs, besides public and private sector organisations in the defence and aerospace sectors.
The Expo would facilitate business interactions, buyer-seller meetings, marketing opportunities, MoUs, startup collaborations and seminars, he said.
In view of the ongoing modernisation of police and paramilitary forces across the country, Jaju directed officials to invite DGPs of all States to participate in the Expo. He also instructed officials to undertake an extensive publicity campaign through standees at prominent locations in Hyderabad, short films, brochures and social media platforms.
