Serilingampally: Local corporator Ragam Nagender Yadav said on Wednesday that it was a matter of great pleasure that the 'Bathukamma' festival was being celebrated in State as per Telangana culture and traditions. Speaking after distributing the 'Bathukamma' saris in Lingampally ZP High School, he said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was providing the saris to poor women 'as their elder brother' enabling them to happily celebrate the festival.

Yadav stated that handloom workers had struggled to prepare the sareer with good designs. "Every eligible woman would be given a saree if they produced ration/Aadhaar cards," he added. Among those present on the occasion included TRS Lingampally unit president Krishna Yadav, activists Lingam Srinivas, Mallikarjun Yadav.
