Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Thursday questioned the BJP's central leadership over its failure to act against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy despite repeatedly accusing him and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of collecting crores of rupees through the alleged RR Tax. He sarcastically remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would never take action against Revanth Reddy.

Taking to social media platform X, Rama Rao questioned why the BJP leadership had failed to initiate investigations or take concrete action despite making serious corruption allegations during its visits to Telangana.

He claimed that collections were being made across the State in the name of RR Tax and asserted that builders and developers operating in Hyderabad could confirm its existence in the construction sector. According to him, Rs 200 per square foot was being systematically collected under the alleged mechanism, which he claimed was widely known in the real estate industry.

Rama Rao pointed out that Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah frequently visit Hyderabad and publicly accuse Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi of siphoning off huge amounts through RR Tax. However, he questioned why they had not ordered formal inquiries or initiated enforcement action.

He said the Centre had a responsibility to act on such serious allegations instead of merely making public statements during political visits. Criticising the BJP, he described its declarations as hollow without statutory investigations or concrete action.

Rama Rao further alleged that the continued inaction pointed towards a secret understanding between the BJP and Congress. He questioned whether the two national parties had reached a tacit political compromise to protect each other's interests in Telangana.
