Loan app suicide: Another person kills self in Hyderabad due to harassment from agents

Another person committed suicide on Saturday at Petbasheerabad in Hyderabad after the harassment from the loan app executives. He was identified as G Chandramohan (36).

This is the fifth suicide related to the loan apps in Telangana. All the victims committed suicide after being harassed by the executives.
The police said that the victims were asked to pay high-interest rates for the small amounts they have borrowed from the instant loan apps. To pay the loans, the victims were forced to borrow the loan from other apps which added up to their burden.
According to the victim's family member, Chandramohan got a call from the agent about 15 days ago who threatened to call up his friends. He was later depressed when the agents called his friends and told them about the unpaid loan of the victim. Unable to take the humiliation, the victim committed suicide.
The police registered a case and are investigating.
