A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed and his pillion passenger seriously injured after a speeding car collided with their bike in Moinabad mandal, police said.
Dubba Subhash, a Moinabad resident, died at the scene. The passenger, Jayanth Bal, who is from Chhattisgarh, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
Police said preliminary findings suggested speeding may have caused the collision. Subhash’s brother, Varaprasad, lodged a complaint, following which police registered a case against the car driver, Puttari Naveen. An investigation is under way.
