Hyderabad: Three students of Narayana Schools — Akshat Srivastava from Gurugram, Pranjal Dixit from Hyderabad and Sumant Gupta from Mohali — have won gold medals for India at the 19th International Olympiad on Astronomy & Astrophysics (IOAA) 2026 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

They were part of the five-member Team India that secured a joint third position among 64 countries. The achievement marks a significant milestone for the students, their families, mentors and Narayana Schools.

The IOAA is a premier international competition testing school students’ knowledge of astronomy and astrophysics, along with analytical and problem-solving skills.

Dr Sindhura Narayana, Director of Narayana Educational Institutions, congratulated the students and said their success reflected the institution’s focus on conceptual clarity, customised training and personalised mentoring.

She said the achievement demonstrated how passion and perseverance, backed by the right guidance, could help students excel at national and international platforms.
