National Mineral Development Corporation says focussed on sustainable goals
National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) chairman and Managing Director N Baijendra Kumar along with other officials released its second Annual Sustainability Report, ‘Expanding Horizons – from Ore to Steel,’ here on Thursday.
Hyderabad: National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) chairman and Managing Director N Baijendra Kumar along with other officials released its second Annual Sustainability Report, 'Expanding Horizons – from Ore to Steel,' here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Baijendra Kumar said, "NMDC has made pioneering contributions in the areas of iron ore exploration and mining, transforming societies around its locations, environment protection and acting as a responsible corporate citizen as a whole.
Essentially, the key principles of triple bottom line excellence are deeply ingrained in the organisational design through guidelines, frameworks and MoUs of Government of India to give a sharper focus on sustainability principles and to embed them in the systems, processes and performance metrics.
NMDC has published the report for the reporting period of the financial year 2017-18 as per the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, "in accordance with comprehensive option to accelerate its journey of sustainable development." The CMD congratulated NMDC team for coming out with the report and said this would enable everyone to learn, analyse and change for value creation.
