Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has said the Congress high command has put in place a robust monitoring mechanism at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) level to track the performance of party leaders and ministers.

He said the functioning of the party leadership had changed significantly, with regular monitoring of organisational activities and accountability among leaders. Speaking informally to media persons at his residence on Saturday, Mahesh Goud said the AICC closely monitors party activities and seeks immediate explanations if reports from the state are not sent to Delhi for even three consecutive days.

He said he had submitted a report to the party high command detailing developments within the Telangana Congress and the prevailing situation in the party.

The TPCC chief said the process of filling nominated posts was progressing at a fast pace. The party was planning to fill chairperson and director positions simultaneously to complete the appointments expeditiously.

However, he clarified that no discussions had taken place so far regarding the selection of candidates for the MLC seats under the Governor’s quota.

He expressed confidence that the party would win the MLC elections.

He added that Ministers, MLAs, MLCs and other party leaders were working in coordination to ensure the victory of the Congress candidates in the two Graduate MLC constituencies.
