Hyderabad: According to Telangana Fire Services, of the 77 pubs inspected, only 45 were found to possess valid Fire NOCs, while deficiencies were detected in the remaining 32 establishments.
The managements have been directed to rectify the violations within the stipulated period, failing which legal action will be initiated under the provisions of the Telangana Fire Service Act.The action comes as the Telangana Fire Services, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence Department conducted a fire safety awareness programme for pub managements and representatives at the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Gachibowli, on Wednesday. The programme was organised under the supervision of Director General of Fire Services Vikram Singh Mann.
He stressed that fire safety was a collective responsibility and could not be compromised in public entertainment venues. He urged pub owners and management to strictly comply with fire safety regulations, obtain and renew Fire NOCs on time, maintain fire fighting systems in working condition and ensure emergency exits remain unobstructed.
