The accused, identified as Abhishek Singh, 26, a resident of Puranapool, was intercepted while collecting the shipment from a local transport facility in Kalapathar. Police confiscated 480 bobbins of prohibited manja packed in 10 cartons, along with two mobile phones.
According to police, Singh, who operates a kite shop in Mangalhat, procured the prohibited thread from a Jaipur-based supplier identified as Mohsin via private transport services.
