Rain Forecast for Telangana and AP, amid arrival of North East monsoon
The temperatures are still high in the Telugu states even as summer has ended and winter is setting in. The Hyderabad Met Centre has indicated that conditions are favorable for the north-east monsoon to set foot in Telangana anytime from the 15th to 18th of this month.
There will be rains with thunder and lightning in many districts like Khammam, erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar districts, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Sangareddy and Mahabubnagar. Light showers are possible elsewhere, while some areas may remain dry. The rain is expected to ease the sultry, humid conditions.
The north-east monsoon is also likely to bring rain to Andhra Pradesh. The state Disaster Management Authority has forecast light to moderate showers in parts of North Coastal Andhra, South Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, with light rain possible in some other districts. Coastal areas may experience gusty winds of 30–40km/h during showers.
