Hyderabad: Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy alleged on Monday that a massive financial scam occurred in the tendering process for constructing Radial Road 2, a project valued at Rs 3,296 crore under Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited. Expressing profound dismay that such irregularities occurred under his own governing party, the legislator alleged that public funds were being plundered within the portfolio directly administered by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Rajgopal Reddy criticised municipal authorities for systematically disqualifying his firm, explaining that his company had submitted competitive bids across three project packages that were Rs 600 crore lower than competing offers.

He alleged that officials deliberately bypassed his lower tender in favour of contractors from other states, claiming the government had borrowed development funds at high interest rates while introducing arbitrary tender conditions designed specifically to exclude his company.

Expressing anger over the denial of constituency development funds while handing borrowed public capital to external agencies, the legislator questioned why low-cost bids were rejected when executing works at minimal margins would save taxpayer money.

Revealing explosive details, Rajgopal Reddy claimed he received direct phone calls from the Chief Minister Office advising him against submitting tender bids for the project. Despite these warnings, his firm proceeded to submit competitive offers. Pledging to challenge the disqualification legally, Rajgopal Reddy declared he would take the matter from the High Court to the Supreme Court if required, while also lodging a formal complaint with senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to expose responsible officials.

Drawing parallels with the previous administration, the legislator alleged that the current practice of rejecting lower bids to award contracts at inflated rates mirrors actions under the former KCR regime. He added that rampant corruption over the past three years risks driving public enterprises like Singareni towards closure.

Explaining his deliberate decision to skip the Delhi rally organised by senior party leaders on Monday, Rajgopal Reddy questioned how legislators could participate in national demonstrations while corruption occurs within state departments headed by the Chief Minister. Asserting that wrongdoing remains unacceptable regardless of whether committed by himself or Revanth Reddy, the Congress MLA vowed to fight against public plunder despite potential political consequences.
