Negligent and rash driving claimed a woman's life here at Shamshabad on Bengaluru highway on Saturday. The woman who was pillion riding fell on the road after an unknown vehicle rammed into the bike near Ghansimiyaguda resulting in her death.
Her husband who was riding the bike sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital. Locals noticed the biker, identified as Shabbir and alerted the police who arrested him and launched a probe.
Shabbir, a native of Mucchintal was retuning from Shamshabad along with his wife Mumtaz when the vehicle hit them. Mumtaz suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. The police shifted her body to a hospital for autopsy. CCTV footage near the area is being verified to nab the miscreants.
